Deck The Halls

Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you are all having great holidays and are looking forward to the joy of the Christmas period. Right now it is 11.30am on Christmas Eve, and I am so excited!

The Christmas tree is put up in early December, along with the other decorations that make the house feel festive. We do not have a real Christmas tree, mainly because of the care that they take, but we do have a real looking fake pine tree.

We get up early on Christmas morning and open presents before heading off to my grandparents house (this year, last year Christmas was at home).

Christmas has always been very special to me, with all our family getting together and having a traditional dinner. However what I say as traditional may not be traditional for others.

First of all I will start by saying that it is summer in New Zealand, which most people can't seem to wrap their heads around. So aside from the obvious of the weather being warmer it also means that the seasonal food is different. For on we have fresh berries, new potatoes and baby carrots. However we do still have roast turkey and ham. But this does mean that it is cooked on Christmas morning sometimes on a very very warm day. My family generally end up outside playing B.Y.C. (Otherwise known as backyard cricket).

Desert is much the same with traditional Christmas pudding, served warm and with runny cream, but we also have our own Christmas desert pavlova, served with whipped cream, kiwi fruit and strawberries.

So that is what Christmas is like in my family. A day of eating and relaxing with family. What are your Christmas traditions?

Merry Christmas!

Assignment Schedule

Keeping track of when things are due is really hard. I struggle with this daily so after looking around (mainly on pinterest) I found an idea that could really work. Meaning that you can see on a single piece of paper when everything is due and keep track of yours grades.

So I remodeled the original idea and came up with a fun and colorful version of my own (it has to be colorful or I would not use it!). So I though that I would share my assignment schedule with you, as a thanks for reading this blog the link is at the end.

But first some photos, I do realize that this will not work for everyone as it only has limited space, and works on points (I am not to sure how international colleges/universities work). But anywho.

So here is the attachment for you to enjoy!! (it is blank because you probably don't want all of my due dates):
